AMT-SYBEX, part of Capita plc, and a market leading provider of mobility software Affinity Fieldreach®, has during 20 successful years, been a premier implementer of the Ellipse Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution in the UK. In that time, Fieldreach has been developed to seamlessly integrate with Ellipse and is in use in the vast majority of AMT-SYBEX’s major UK utility and infrastructure clients. The Enterprise Software product group within ABB will now take that capability to their wider client base as “Fieldreach for Ellipse.”

Fieldreach is a business driven mobile solution that allows organisations to configure and deploy solutions in the field without extensive programming, as required by other solutions. It is licensed on over 50,000 devices and is actively maintaining over 15,000 km of track and inspecting 7,600 km of high pressure gas pipelines in the UK. Fieldreach is currently completing circa 4 million work orders per annum within Network Rail.

Andy Miller, CEO of AMT-SYBEX comments

“The integration of Fieldreach with Ellipse is shifting the EAM paradigm from the desk to the field, helping organisations avoid costly enterprise software customisation and ultimately delivering better value to their end customers. In solidifying our relationship with the Enterprise Software product group within ABB, we are ensuring that the synergy benefits of the Fieldreach and Ellipse integration are available to a global customer base and we are delighted to be collaborating ever more closely, to deliver a world class, proven, solution.”

Ellipse, a fully integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) and EAM solution, is the application of choice for asset intensive businesses across the globe. “Ellipse has been a market-leading EAM solution in asset-intensive industries for years, because it helps customers significantly reduce operating costs while increasing efficiency and reliability, and ensuring safety and compliance,”

said Rick Nicholson, EVP of Product Management for the Enterprise Software product group within ABB.

“This agreement will deliver even broader benefits to our global customers by taking the power of Ellipse to the field via a seamlessly integrated best-of-breed mobile solution – streamlining operations in complex environments without the need for costly and time-consuming systems development.”
